Project Management

Project management and client communication are critical components of any outsourced development project. Validio uses several mechanisms to ensure that each project is on track, and to make the process open and transparent to the client.

Estimates and Project Plan

We create a detailed time estimate for every project, and update it as necessary during the course of the project. We use Microsoft Project software to create and maintain a project plan with clearly identified milestones and resource allocation.

Project Status Reviews

To ensure that a project is on track, we perform regular project status reviews. The review process may include internal team meetings, weekly project status reviews with the client, and individual performance reviews.

Project Status Reporting

Each week, or more often when necessary, Validio’s project teams send the client a project activity report. This report covers the activities of the past week, planned activities for the next week, open issues, upcoming milestones, and other events. In addition, a weekly telephone or video conference between the development team and the client can provide a higher level of communication.

Individual team members track their development activities in daily time reports. Based on these reports, we compile and send project time reports on a regular basis, usually every two weeks. Project time reports contain detailed information on the time spent on each project task.

Project Management Tools

To simplify and automate the project management process, Validio uses Microsoft SharePoint to create and maintain a portal with project-related tasks, documents, plans, reports, and more. A client can log in to this system to monitor the project’s progress, access documentation and reports, and drive the project management process.
